Backup Plus DVD Edition is a software tool that allows you to quickly and easily back up your important data. As we can see from the name, the main feature offered is backup to DVD. The program comes with an integrated CD/DVD burner that doesn't require any third party packet writing software. Backup Plus DVD Edition can backup to DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W, backup files to DVD-RAM and backup to Dual Layer DVD. It's clear that backup to CD-R/RW is also supported. Your backups can be planned with the use of included Timed Backups Manager with backup periods ranging from every hour to every 30 days. Other backup attributes include automatic e-mail reports about backup results, verification of created reserve copies, backup tracking. When it comes to backup sources, the program can automatically find frequently used system folders like My Documents, Desktop and Internet cookies. Backup Plus DVD Edition reads the system registry and automatically finds where these folders are located without any action required from the user. When it comes to restoring your data after some software failure or a total computer crash, Backup Plus DVD Edition offers you a Restore Manager with the interface being similar to well-known Windows Explorer.

There are also some negative sides in Backup Plus DVD Edition. What we mostly didn't like is no support of backup to DVD with disks spanning that limits the size of a single backup job to just around 4GB, which is not a great amount of data nowadays. However, this disadvantage may be acceptable by many potential users and Backup Plus DVD Edition is quite a cost-effective solution if you want to back up data to DVD.
